Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones come in a wide range of models, and even phones with similar names may differ in terms of displays, batteries, charging boards, flex cables, and casing components. Therefore, it is important to accurately identify the device model and the cause of the malfunction before proceeding with repairs.
The Ramservice repair center in Bratislava performs diagnostics and repairs for Xiaomi, Redmi, Redmi Note, and POCO smartphones, as well as older Mi models. Before starting work, a technician inspects the device, checks the availability of compatible parts, and agrees on the repair and its cost with the customer.
Which Xiaomi Smartphones We Repair
You can bring Xiaomi, Redmi, Redmi Note, POCO, and older Mi models to our service center. Repair availability depends on the specific model, the nature of the malfunction, and the availability of necessary replacement parts.
For example, the 4G and 5G versions of the Redmi Note may have different internal designs. The same applies to standard models, Pro, and Pro+. Therefore, the display, battery, charging board, or housing part is selected specifically for the particular version of the smartphone.
If you don’t know the exact model, we can verify it when we receive your device.
What’s Wrong with Your Smartphone? Diagnosing the Problem Based on Symptoms
The same problem can have different causes. A phone that won’t charge doesn’t always need a new USB-C cable, and a black screen after a drop doesn’t necessarily mean the smartphone won’t turn on at all.
That’s why we first identify the cause of the malfunction and only then choose the repair method.
Screen and Housing Issues
After a fall, the display may develop cracks, black or colored spots, lines, or flickering. Sometimes the image remains visible, but the touchscreen stops responding to touch partially or completely.
If the impact was severe, we also check the bezel and other parts of the casing. If the bezel is bent, a new display may be installed crookedly or remain under constant mechanical pressure.
Depending on the damage, you may need to replace the display, the back cover, or the smartphone’s mid-frame.
Xiaomi Won’t Charge or Drains Quickly
If charging stops, you have to hold the cable at a certain angle, or the phone doesn’t respond to the charger at all, first check the cable, the USB-C port, and the condition of the connector itself.
In many Xiaomi and Redmi models, the USB-C port is located on a separate bottom board that connects to the main board via a ribbon cable. Therefore, the issue may lie not only with the port itself, but also with the bottom board, the ribbon cable, the battery, or the power management circuitry.
If the smartphone drains quickly or turns off while there is still charge remaining, check the battery’s condition. A worn-out battery gradually loses capacity, but increased power consumption can also be caused by other malfunctions.
Therefore, the battery should only be replaced after it has been confirmed that the problem is indeed with the battery.
The camera, microphone, or speaker isn’t working
After an impact, the camera may stop focusing, fail to start, or operate erratically. If there are audio issues, the speaker may sound quiet or distorted, and a faulty microphone can cause the person on the other end of the call to have trouble hearing you.
The cause isn’t always the module itself. We also check the contacts, flex cables, connectors, and connections to the main board.
After a drop, we check for more than just visible damage
After a hard impact, the problem is often more than just a cracked screen.
Along with the display, the bezel, camera, buttons, flex cables, or internal mounts may also be damaged. Therefore, before repair, we check the overall condition of the case and the operation of the smartphone’s main functions.
If we find any additional damage, we inform the customer of it before beginning the repair.
If a Xiaomi Gets Wet
After coming into contact with water, coffee, or another liquid, the smartphone may continue to work normally for a while. But inside, oxidation and corrosion of the contacts may already have begun.
Over time, this can lead to problems with charging, sound, the display, or booting up the phone.
In this situation, the device must be disassembled and the components inspected. Do not repeatedly try to turn on or charge a water-damaged smartphone.
You can read more about this type of repair on the page “Cleaning a Phone After Water Damage.”
When a Motherboard Repair Is Needed
Not all malfunctions can be resolved by replacing a pre-made part.
If the main modules are functioning properly but the smartphone won’t turn on, has a short circuit, or operates erratically after being dropped or exposed to water, the problem may lie with the motherboard.
In this case, a component-by-component diagnostic test is performed. The power supply, possible short circuits, contacts, connectors, and electronic components are checked.
If the fault can be identified and technically resolved, the phone’s motherboard is repaired.
What Determines the Repair Cost
The cost depends on the smartphone model, the cause of the malfunction, the necessary parts, and the complexity of the repair.
For example, if a customer reports that “Xiaomi isn’t charging,” for one phone it may be enough to clean compressed lint from the USB-C port; for another, the charging connector or bottom circuit board may need to be replaced; and for a third, the problem may lie in the power supply electronics.
Therefore, the exact cost can only be determined after a diagnostic check. Before the repair, the customer is informed of the price, and the scope of work is agreed upon.
Diagnostics are free provided the customer agrees to a repair or other agreed-upon service at Ramservice.
